First, we'll have a conversation to make sure that we're both clear about what you want me to do. Once we agree on the services, I'll send you a contract with the estimated price. 50% of the estimate is due before I begin work. When I finish the project, I'll send you an invoice with the final price and the remaining payment due.

The rates below are a starting point – they may vary depending on the precise nature and scope of your project. If you have any questions, please contact me.

Basic Edit – $30 per hour

A Basic Edit ferrets out any embarrassing errors in spelling, punctuation, and grammar. I'll make sure that your verb tenses are correct and you've used the words you meant to. Generally, I can edit 5-7 pages per hour at this level.

Thorough Edit – $35 per hour

In addition to checking spelling, punctuation, and grammar, a Thorough Edit includes detailed suggestions about word choice, structuring, and flow, as well as rewriting of awkward or unclear passages. Generally, I can edit 2-4 pages per hour at this level.

Custom – price varies according to project

If what you want isn't covered here, I'd love to collaborate with you. Examples of custom projects include fact-checking, conceptual review of a manuscript, transcribing video or audio content, typing up a handwritten document, or pulling several data sets together into one document. Let me know what you're looking for and we'll talk about how I can help you.

A note about tracking changes: Word and Excel contain a tool to track changes. If you send me a document in either of these formats, you will be able to see exactly what changes I have made. Other formats may not have this tool, and you can simply compare the original document with my revision to identify the changes that have been made. If you wish, I can provide you with a separate document listing each change I make; however, this will increase the time needed to complete the project. Please keep this in mind if you request this option.
